Laborers’ Local 596 stands for 575 men and women that work on heavy highway and building projects in Amherst, Bernardston, Colrain, Conway, Deerfield, Easthampton, Erving, Gill and other counties of Western Massachusetts.
Local 596 is affiliated with Massachusetts and Northern New England Laborers’ District Council (a subsidiary of LiUNA), which includes 30 Local Unions and over 20,000 laborers and public service employees in this region.
Members of the Local have access to healthcare and pension programs offered by the Massachusetts Laborers’ Health & Welfare Fund and the Massachusetts Laborers’ Pension Fund.
In cooperation with the New England Laborers’ Training Academy (NELTA), Local 596 offers its members comprehensive and top-notch training programs.
