Local 530 is located in Zanesville, Ohio, and serves Muskingum, Perry, Noble, and Guernsey Counties. The union represents about 400 qualified men and women in the Building and Construction trades. It employs and supplies devoted, competent, and experienced labourers to over 100 signatory contractors in Building, Heavy Highway, and Pipeline Construction.
Local 530, founded on April 2, 1934, is an affiliate of the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA), with an estimated 500,000 members in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico.
Local 530 members regularly attend the Drexel J. Thrash Training Center in Millwood, Ohio, which provides more than 75 recognized technical classes in the most advantageous programs in the construction business. The Parkersburg-Marietta Building and Construction Trades Educational and Development Fund also offers training opportunities to union members.
