Chartered in 1998, the Lay Faculty Association ( LFA ) Local 1261 is a member of the Laborers’ International Union of North America.
LFA-1261 is also affiliated with The Mason Tenders’ District Council of Greater New York and Long Island which comprises over 17,000 members of different professions: construction workers, asbestos and hazardous materials handlers, recycling and waste handlers, and Catholic high school teachers.
LFA Local 1261 represents over 900 members at eleven non-public high schools in Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, and Roosevelt Island.
