Ironworkers Local 397

Ironworkers Local 397 was chartered in August of 1924 to provide skilled Ironworker Tradesmen to the Gulf Coast of Florida. Its jurisdiction covers Charlotte, Citrus, Desoto, Glades, Hardee, Hernando, and 10 more counties in Florida.

They have helped build a variety of important projects in the area, including the TECO Plant, Big Bend, Gannon Station, Bartow Plant, Tampa International Airport, Mosaic Phosphate, Tropicana Juice, and many other projects.

Local 397 offers its members several benefit programs, including Health and Pension plans, Short-Term and Sick Plans, Annuity, etc. Furthermore, the local union operates a training center that is available to all Journeymen, Apprentices, Pre-Apprentices, and Welders performing Welder Qualification Tests.
