Founded in 1896, Ironworkers Local 3 is a mixed labor union that currently encompasses 2,000 tradespeople. The scope of their work includes but is not limited to, structural steel erection, pre-cast concrete construction, ornamental iron/curtain wall, concrete/reinforcing steel, pre-engineered metal buildings, welding, post-tensioning, industrial construction, and wind turbine construction. Their jurisdiction covers Erie, Clearfield, North Pittsburgh, and South Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The Local 3 Training Center offers its members high-class apprenticeship programs, ongoing journeyman training, and certifications. All eligible members also receive various health benefits, scholarships, pension and retirement plans, eye and dental care, and more.
