Carpenters Local 474, also known as the Wharf & Dock Builders, Piledrivers, and Divers Local, was established in 1913. The local union specializes in marine construction, foundation installation (both on and off-shore), and commercial diving.
Local 474 has a wide jurisdiction that includes Ocean and Burlington counties, Cape May, Bucks, Chester, Philadelphia, Montgomery, and Delaware counties, as well as the states of Delaware, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
Through the EASRCC training centers, every member of the local union undergoes a four-year apprenticeship certifying them in rigging and signaling, welding, and various industry-standard certifications, including OSHA 30, aerial lift, and fall protection.
In addition to training, Local 474 also provides its members with several benefit programs, including medical, prescription drugs, vision, and dental coverage, as well as a supplemental pension plan and other benefits.
