Headquartered in Cleveland, OH, UA Local 55 represents 1,200 plumbers across Ohio. It was chartered on October 26, 1889, as a branch of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry (UA). The local’s members work on many of the area’s important construction jobs, such as the revitalization of the East Bank of Cleveland’s Flats area, American Greetings’ new world headquarters, the Hilton Hotel in downtown Cleveland, the Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center, and many more.
Local 55 Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (J.A.T.C.) provides 3 types of training programs and journeymen upgrade training in a state-of-the-art, 18,000-square-foot facility in Cleveland, Ohio. The union also provides its members with medical coverage and pension plans.
