Plumbers UA Local 1, created on December 1, 1889, as of today represents over 6,300 members who specialize in both commercial and residential work, and also in medical gas certification and back-flow testing. Its jurisdiction covers all five boroughs of New York City: Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Manhattan and Staten Island.
Local 1 is affiliated with the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry (UA) that represents approximately 355,000 Plumbers, Pipefitters, Sprinkler Fitters, HVACR Service Technicians, Welders and Pipeliners working in the construction industry throughout North America.
Local 1 is committed to providing benefit programs to all of its members.
