Laborers’ Local 28

Federal Employees Local 28 currently has 700 members in San Antonio, Houston, Amarillo, St. Louis, Denver, Jacksonville, Miami, Dallas, and other parts of the country. It was chartered in 1998 as a part of the Laborers’ International Union of North America.

The main task of the union is to support its members who are mainly government employees in negotiations and representation in all employment-related matters.

Local 28 falls under the jurisdiction of the Southwest Laborers’ District Council (a subsidiary of LiUNA). Therefore, members of the Local are eligible to apply for a special training program provided by The Southwest Laborers’ Training and Apprenticeship Fund (SWLTAF).
