Laborers’ Local 274

Laborers’ Local 274 stands for approximately 810 men and women who perform all kinds of construction tasks necessary to build the Lafayette & Kokomo counties, Indiana. It was chartered in 1936 as an affiliate of the Laborers’ International Union of North America.

The Local 274 main areas of work include Asbestos Abatement, Asphalt Paving, Building Restoration, Bypass Boring, Drilling, Excavating & Sewer, Masonry, Irrigation, Traffic Control, Refractory, Waterproofing, and so on.

It 274 is one of 11 locals in Indiana whose members can apply for a three-year apprenticeship program funded by the Indiana Laborers’ Training Trust Fund. It is also eligible for other benefits programs, including medical coverage, loss of time, life and accidental death, dismemberment coverage, pension plan, etc.
