IUOE Local 612 was established in 1935 and currently represents 2,400 Hoisting and Portable engineers who serve Pierce, Thurston, Lewis, and Pacific Counties in Washington State. The scope of their work includes, but is not limited to Highway, Marine, Heavy Construction, and Engineering projects including Mining, Drilling, Surveying, Utilities, and Site Development.
Local 612’s joint apprenticeship and training program is designed to train apprentices and provide skill improvement and related training to Operating Engineers on an ongoing basis. Additionally, all journey-level members may upgrade their skills and knowledge through the Western Washington Regional Training School.
