IUOE Local 37 represents over 1,500 Operating Engineers working in the construction industry as heavy equipment operators, mechanics, and welders, as well as stationary engineers working inside buildings conducting all forms of facility maintenance. Its jurisdiction includes all of Maryland, with the exception of Charles County, St. Mary’s County, Prince Georges’s County, and Montgomery County.
Local 37 offers its members continuing education, apprenticeship training, and several Certification & Recertification opportunities through the Baltimore-based Training School. Furthermore, all qualifying members receive a package of benefits, including medical insurance and pension benefits.
