Ironworkers Local 751, which was established on March 27, 1953, currently represents over 250 members who work across the entire state of Alaska. They may be found on various job sites where they work, including national defense projects, commercial and government buildings, mining, communication towers, pipeline projects, oil development, and transportation projects.
The union members hold specialized skills in many areas of the ironworking trade, such as the erection of structural steel, welding, placing reinforcing steel, rigging, ornamental curtain wall, precast concrete structures, bridges, fences, towers, and other structures.
Along with Apprentice training, Local 751 offers Journeyman upgrading, Foreman training, and numerous safety classes. Additionally, all members may benefit from extensive Health & Welfare, Pension, and Annuity plans.
