Chartered on February 5, 1934, Ironworkers Local 451 is a trade union representing over 300 members in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Its members work on a variety of commercial and industrial projects such as the erection of bridges, power plants, steel mills, oil refineries, and blast furnaces.
Members of Local 451 get intensive training through a certified apprenticeship program that includes classes on Structural steel erection, Rigging, Blueprint reading, Welding, flame cutting and plasma arc welding, Reinforcing concrete, Fence installation, and so on.
