IBEW Local 53 serves over 3,200 men and women working in the greater Kansas City area and the western half of Missouri. Chartered in 1917, it represents Outside Construction Line Workers, Line Clearance/Tree Trimming, Utilities, Municipalities, REA Cooperatives, Power Plants, Radio and Television.
The union offers a variety of services to its members, including Missouri Valley Line Constructors Apprenticeship and Training Program, health programs by Express Scripts, pension plans by IBEW Pension Benefit Fund (PBF), etc.
