UA Local 6 has over 400 trained and certified workers who install piping systems and associated equipment for gas, medical gas, high-pressure steam, condensate, heating and cooling water, refrigeration, and plumbing. Its members are employed by numerous contractors in the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa.
Local 6 offers its members various opportunities for skill development through 5-year Paid Apprenticeships and Continuing Education Classes. Eligible members also receive health and welfare insurance, a pension plan, legal assistance, and other benefits.
