UA Local 188 was chartered on November 8th, 1899 as a part of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry. Local Union represents nearly 600 union-trained Plumbers, Pipefitters, HVACR Service Technicians, and Welders who serve Bryan, Bulloch, Candler, Chatham, Effingham, and 10 more counties in Georgia. They work on projects of all sizes, from residential homes to hospitals and major industrial projects.
Local 188 provides five-year apprenticeship programs, continuing education opportunities for journeymen, safety training, Foreman Certification, and many more.
