IUOE Local 478 is a labor union representing more than 4,300 skilled Operating Engineers who operate and maintain heavy equipment such as cranes, loaders, backhoes, excavators, forklifts, and bulldozers which helped build the roads, bridges, tunnels, buildings, and infrastructure in the entire state of Connecticut.
