Plumbers and Steamfitters UA Local 43 in Chattanooga, Tennessee has nearly 1,400 union-trained craftsmen who are responsible for building and maintaining mechanical systems in the various industrial and residential facilities across Tennessee, Georgia, and North Carolina. Local 43 has supported the Tennessee Valley in various ways, including chemical plants, power generation, hospitals, universities, and the state’s largest fresh and saltwater aquarium.
It was chartered on August 25, 1890, as a branch of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry.
Local 43 JATC provides its members with top-notch and comprehensive 5-year apprenticeship training. The union also offers a variety of benefits including a health plan, a Defined Contribution, and a Defined Benefit Pension Plan.
