Established on August 3rd, 1904, UA Local 475 represents approximately 1,350 skilled Steamfitters who work for various signatory contractors such as Merck, Schering-Plough, Hoffman-LaRoche, Aventis, Johnson and Johnson, Pharmacia, Pfizer, Medarex, just to name a few.
Its jurisdiction covers the entire Essex and Union counties, and portions of the Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Somerset, and Warren counties in New Jersey.
In addition to its five-year apprenticeship programs, Steamfitters Local 475 offers various continuing education options such as journeymen training, certification, and an associate’s degree program. The union also provides a variety of benefits including a Health & Welfare plan, Surety Plan, Pension Plan, and Vacation Fund.
