Laborers’ Local 639

Laborers’ Local 639, based in Marietta, Ohio, represents workers in Washington, Monroe, and Morgan Counties. Local 636 represents over 400 professionals in the Building and Construction trades, using and supplying committed, skilled, and experienced labourers to its signatory contractors in the Building, Heavy Highway, and Pipeline Contractors.

Local Union 639 was founded on July 1, 1946, as a part of the Laborers’ International Union of North America, AFL-CIO in Washington DC. In addition, it is a part of the Parkersburg – Marietta Building & Construction Trades Council AFL-CIO. 

Local 639 members regularly attend the Drexel J. Thrash Training Center in Millwood, OH, which provides access to more than 75 high-quality technical classes in the best construction industry programs. Union members can also get training through the Parkersburg – Marietta Constructions and Trades Educational and Development Fund.
