UA Local 404 has more than 550 highly skilled pipefitters, welders, plumbers, and HVAC-R service technicians who serve numerous counties across Northwest Texas. It was chartered in 2013 by the merger of three former UA Locals – 196, 389, and 629. Journeymen and apprentices of Local 404 perform a wide array of work in sectors such as energy, heavy industrial, commercial, medical, institutional, and residential.
Local 404 members undergo intense training via a registered apprenticeship program that includes classes on pipe fitting, welding, plumbing, and HVAC-R service. Through a Collective Bargaining Agreement or CBA, the union ensures its members receive fair wages, excellent health insurance, and great retirement benefits.
