Chartered on October 25, 1919, IBEW Local 1002 represents nearly 930 active members in Oklahoma who are divided into several categories of electrical work, including Government, Outside, and Utility classifications. They work for companies like Grand River Dam Authority, East Central Electric Cooperative, Kiamichi Electric Cooperative, Southwestern Power Administration, BBC Electrical Services, Inc., L.E. Myers Co., and many more.
Through collective bargaining, Local 1002 helps provide high-class training through the Southwestern Line Constructors Joint Apprenticeship and Training Program, excellent wages, health care benefits (LINECO), and retirement security for its power professionals.
