IBEW Local 51 is a diverse union that represents approximately 3,200 members throughout the state of Illinois. Chartered on October 1, 1944, as a part of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, it has jurisdiction over Cable Television, Line Clearance Tree Trimming, Outside, Professional Technical and Clerical, Radio-Television Broadcasting, Telephone, Utility, and Utility Office Workers.
Its members are skilled electricians who receive ongoing top-notch training provided by the American Line Builders Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (ALBAT). All of its members also have access to a strong pension plan and first-rate family health care.
