Steamfitters’ Local 420 has jurisdiction over all or parts of ten counties in southeastern Pennsylvania for the installation and service of mechanical systems. It also services the entire state for gas pipeline distribution and four Northeast states (PA, NJ, DE, NY) for instrumentation calibration. It was founded in 1903 as a part of the United Association (UA) and, as of today, it represents over 4,500 members.
Local 420 takes care of its members, their families, and the community as a whole through youth programs, scholarships, specialized educational programs (Steamfitters Apprenticeship or Mechanical Equipment Training), active participation in regional affairs, and vested retirement and health programs.
