UA Local 353 represents 700 experienced plumbers, steamfitters, sprinkler fitters, pipefitters, & service technicians who work in commercial, residential, industrial piping, and the HVACR industry. Its jurisdiction covers Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, Marshall, Stark, Fulton, Mason, McDonough, Schuyler, and Hancock counties in Illinois.
The Local Union was established on June 10, 1911, as a part of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry.
Local 353 trains its members both during their 5-year apprenticeship and with continuing education classes for Journeymen. There is also a set of other benefits such as medical coverage, pension plan, legal services, etc.
