Laborers’ Local 159 was founded on April 24, 1934, and is an affiliate of the Laborers’ International Union of North America.
Currently, it serves about 660 men and women who carry out a variety of tasks required for the construction of the counties it covers. Its jurisdiction includes Macon, Shelby, Moultrie, Douglas, Coles, Cumberland, Clark, and Edgar counties in Illinois.
