IUOE Local 98 is one of two hoisting and portable locals in the States of Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and the only hoisting and portable union in the state of Vermont. Currently, it has over 1,000 skilled men and women who work as operating engineers within the local union’s jurisdiction.
Local 98 provides upgrade training to its members as well as a quality apprenticeship program for new members. Additionally, the local union offers all eligible members a set of benefits such as medical, prescription drugs, dental, optical coverage, hearing aid, pension, and annuity benefits.
