UA Local 8 Plumbers & Gasfitters represents nearly 1,000 skilled craftsmen who build schools, hospitals, and commercial buildings across Saline, Miami, Bates, Vernon, St. Clair, Benton, Morgan, Bettis, and 10 more counties in Missouri. The Local Union was chartered on January 2, 1890, by the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry (UA).
Plumbers and Gasfitters Local 8 Training Center prepares Local 8 Journeypersons and Apprentices with the skills to be high-skilled workers in welding, backflow protection, medical gases, and many other areas.
