UA Local 636 represents over 2,400 Pipefitters, Steamfitters, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Service Technicians who serve Southeast Michigan.
Its members create and maintain the infrastructure in the Residential, Commercial, and Industrial Industries, which includes houses, office buildings, hospitals, universities, schools, libraries, stadiums, bridges, and more.
Local 636 provides its members with a tuition-free DOL-registered five-year apprenticeship program, as well as continuing education classes for experienced Steamfitters/Pipefitters & HVAC/R technicians. Members may also take advantage of Health and Welfare plans, Pensions, Vacation & Holiday, Supplemental Unemployment programs, and other benefits.
