Chartered in 1968, the Laborers Local Union 2 is an associate of LIUNA (Laborers’ International Union of North America) and the Chicago Laborers’ District Council. The latter consists of 15 Affiliated Locals with jurisdictions covering Cook, DuPage, Lake, Will, Kane, Kendall, McHenry, Grundy, and Boone counties.
The LIUNA Chicago Laborers’ District Council is an organization that speaks on behalf of more than 20,000 hardworking men and women who work in the industrial, municipal, and construction fields.
Laborers of Local 2 have access to a continuing education program through Chicagoland Laborers’ District Council Training & Apprentice Fund. In addition, members of the union can benefit from various health, welfare & pension plans.
