Laborers’ Local 108 belongs to the Laborers Eastern Region, which is comprised of over 50,000 working men and women in New York, New Jersey, and Delaware. Parts of LIUNA Local 734 were merged into Laborers Local Union 108 in 2007. Currently, it is a diversified Local Union that represents both men and women who work in the fields of light manufacturing, warehouse workers, Scrap Metal Recycling, and food service workers.
Since 1937, LiUNA Local 108 has represented workers in the private waste collection and recycling business in New York, Long Island, Westchester, the Hudson Valley, and the Danbury area of Connecticut.
Local 108 is devoted to ensuring the following for all of its members: sustainable living wages, quality health insurance, secure retirement plans, a collective bargaining process, and contract enforcement.
